We have been working closely with young riders for a number of years, mainly in South Wales, as our daughters are very keen and talented cyclists.

We identified a need and an opportunity to give something back to the sport of cycling that has given us both so much throughout the years.

With the amount of experience we both have it’s a great opportunity to set up a small team of young riders and help them to achieve their potential. We coach them as well as providing support to the families.

It can be difficult to know what to do at times with this complex sport and having people close at hand can make everyone feel safer in their choices.

Backstedt Cycling was started in 2015 and is now a Club registered with British Cycling. We look to provide racing opportunities for these young riders, both nationally and internationally as well as providing knowledge and expertise in how to be a top athlete.

Our aim is to see these riders develop and in the future be racing in the biggest competitions in the world.
